Meet Alexandra
I'm running for State Representative because I believe New Milford deserves a voice that shows up not just for the easy moments, but for the hard ones too. New Milford has shaped who I am, and I want to give back by making sure every resident has a real seat at the table, all year round.
My approach to public service is simple: show up, listen first, and be honest about where I stand. Representation isn't a part-time job, and it isn't something you do only when the cameras are rolling. I believe in transparency, in treating neighbors like neighbors, and in doing the unglamorous work of actually being present in our community.
I was born and raised right here in New Milford, and I still live in the home my parents bought back in 1957. I'm a mother to one son and stepmother to two more, and I'm lucky enough to be grandmother to eight.
I've spent most of my career working with young people. I directed summer camps from 1990 to 2020, and along the way I worked for the Northwestern CT Girl Scout Council, owned and ran a co-ed resident camp, taught Adventure Education at Northwestern CT Community College, managed programs and camps for Girl Scouts of Connecticut, and directed SJ Riding Camp before retiring in 2020.
Serving my community has been just as central to my life. I served on the New Milford Town Council from 2021 to 2025, and on the Board of Education from 1991 to 2003 and again from 2005 to 2011. I've volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, cookie manager, and neighborhood chair, directed the Clatter Valley Day Camp, coached New Milford Youth Soccer, and served on the board of the CT Camping Association for nearly 40 years, including a term as its president. I've also been an instructor for the American Camp Association since 2003. More recently, I coordinate volunteers for Loaves & Fishes Hospitality House of New Milford and helped out as a COVID vaccine volunteer.
I hold a Business Degree from Charter Oak State College and I'm a Certified Youth Camp Director. Outside of campaign life, I love spending time with my grandchildren, gardening, and doing what I can to protect our environment.
I'm focused on the issues that matter most here: education, our local economy, energy costs, and protecting the land and environment that make New Milford special. These aren't talking points to me; they're what I hear about from neighbors at school events, town meetings, and around town, the places where the real work of representing people happens.
I don't claim to have every answer. But I'm committed to showing up consistently, asking the right questions, and putting New Milford first.
